1. Project Summary
Green Kashi – Plantation & Cleanliness Drive Kashi Educare Society की एक community-based environmental initiative है, जिसका उद्देश्य वाराणसी के जरूरतमंद एवं घनी आबादी वाले क्षेत्रों में स्वच्छता, वृक्षारोपण, कचरा प्रबंधन और पर्यावरण जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देना है।
इस project के अंतर्गत 1 वर्ष में 1,000 पौधे लगाने, उनकी देखभाल सुनिश्चित करने, नियमित cleanliness drives आयोजित करने तथा बच्चों, युवाओं, महिलाओं और स्थानीय निवासियों को environmental responsibility से जोड़ने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
Project का focus केवल पौधे लगाने तक सीमित नहीं रहेगा, बल्कि “Plant – Protect – Maintain” मॉडल पर होगा।
2. Project Background
शहरी क्षेत्रों में बढ़ती आबादी, खुले में कचरा, single-use plastic, green spaces की कमी और उचित waste management की कमी के कारण पर्यावरण एवं public health पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ सकता है।
वाराणसी जैसे ऐतिहासिक और धार्मिक शहर में स्वच्छ एवं हरित वातावरण का महत्व और भी अधिक है।
Kashi Educare Society स्थानीय समुदाय को साथ लेकर:

3. Project Goal
“वाराणसी के चयनित वंचित एवं सामुदायिक क्षेत्रों को अधिक स्वच्छ, हरित और पर्यावरण के प्रति जागरूक बनाना।”
4. Project Objectives
- एक वर्ष में 1,000 पौधों का plantation करना।
- लगाए गए पौधों की नियमित देखभाल एवं survival monitoring करना।
- 12 major cleanliness drives आयोजित करना।
- 2,000+ लोगों को environmental awareness activities से जोड़ना।
- बच्चों एवं युवाओं में environmental responsibility विकसित करना।
- waste segregation और responsible waste disposal को बढ़ावा देना।
- single-use plastic के कम उपयोग के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना।
- community volunteers का environmental network तैयार करना।
- स्थानीय schools, temples, resident groups और businesses को project से जोड़ना।
- प्रत्येक plantation site का documentation एवं monitoring करना।
5. Target Beneficiaries

शामिल होंगे।
Indirect Beneficiaries
Plantation एवं cleanliness activities से आसपास के हजारों residents एवं visitors को long-term environmental benefit मिल सकता है।
6. Major Project Components
🌳 Component 1 – Plantation Drive
एक वर्ष में 1,000 पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य।
Suitable Plant Categories
स्थानीय परिस्थितियों एवं site suitability के अनुसार:

- Banyan
- Jamun
- Amaltas
- Arjun
- Ashoka
- Gulmohar
- Bel
- Amla

- अन्य locally suitable native species
Note: पौधे का चयन soil, water availability, space और स्थानीय ecological suitability के आधार पर किया जाएगा।
7. “Plant & Adopt a Tree” Model
सिर्फ plantation करने के बजाय प्रत्येक पौधे को Adopt करने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।
एक पौधे के लिए:
Plant → Tag → Adopt → Water → Monitor → Protect
हर पौधे को एक unique identification/tag number दिया जा सकता है।
उदाहरण:
Tree ID: GK-001
इसके साथ:
- Plantation date
- Location
- Species
- Caretaker/Volunteer
- Monitoring status
record किया जाएगा।
8. Tree Care & Maintenance
Plantation के बाद कम से कम प्रारंभिक growth period में नियमित maintenance किया जाएगा।
Activities:
- Watering
- Tree guard installation
- Soil maintenance
- Mulching
- Weed removal
- Protection from animals
- Replacement of damaged/dead saplings
Survival Target
कम से कम 75–80% planted saplings के survival को target indicator के रूप में रखा जा सकता है, हालांकि वास्तविक survival local conditions पर निर्भर करेगा।
9. 🧹 Clean Kashi – Cleanliness Drive
हर महीने community cleanliness activity आयोजित की जाएगी।

- School surroundings cleaning

- Waste collection
- Plastic waste collection
- Awareness activities
12 major cleanliness drives/year का target रखा जाएगा।
10. ♻️ Waste Segregation Awareness
Community को basic waste segregation के बारे में जागरूक किया जाएगा:
🟢 Wet Waste
Food waste, vegetable waste आदि।
🔵 Dry Waste
Paper, cardboard, plastic आदि।
⚠️ Special Waste
Batteries, sanitary waste और अन्य appropriate waste को सुरक्षित तरीके से dispose करने की जानकारी दी जाएगी।
Project का उद्देश्य community को local municipal waste collection/disposal systems से बेहतर तरीके से जोड़ना होगा।

Behavioral Impact
Project का मुख्य उद्देश्य केवल एक दिन की cleanliness या plantation activity नहीं, बल्कि लोगों में “अपना क्षेत्र – अपनी जिम्मेदारी” की भावना विकसित करना होगा।
21. Sustainability Model
Project को long-term बनाने के लिए:
“Adopt a Tree – Adopt a Community”
प्रत्येक plantation location के लिए local caretaker/volunteer group बनाया जाएगा।
साथ ही:

- Youth clubs
- Community leaders
को maintenance में शामिल किया जाएगा।
इससे project समाप्त होने के बाद भी planted trees और cleanliness initiatives की देखभाल जारी रखने में मदद मिलेगी।
